In my Tampa, Florida divorce or family law case, what is the mediator’s role?
The mediator is a neutral third party who tries to help the parties come to a resolution of their issues in their case in mediation. Usually what they do is they go in and they talk with one party and kind of get an idea of what that party really wants for the divorce or family law matter. Then they go into the other room and talk to the other party telling them what you want and to see what they want. The mediators try to find ways for you to try to come to a middle ground to try to resolve your issues. If you can do so then the mediator will prepare the agreement which will be signed by the parties and their attorneys.
