Can I represent myself in family court in Florida?
Yes. In family court you may represent yourself. If your unique situation would be one that you feel like you could handle it yourself then you can do that. Of course, if you have children, alimony, retirement accounts or have real or personal property issues it would be to your advantage to seek legal advice. It is much easier to do it right the first time, because after a final judgment is entered, you can only make changes to child custody, visitation, child support and alimony and that requires a substantial change of circumstances not known when you came to the agreement. You cannot change the distribution of assets or debt. Please call, email or text us at 813-543-8960 to schedule a free consultation. All Family Law Group, P.A.
