What if I need child support during my Tampa Florida divorce?
If you need child support and your spouse is not paying you child support, then what we can do is file a motion for a temporary hearing. We can go to a hearing where the judge will actually order you child support; however, this will only be done after mediation has been completed. I find that in most cases the parties are able to work it out and come up with an amount that one of the parties will pay during the pendency of the action. If child support is not paid, then an arrearage will add up and it could be a factor in a final agreement or judgment.
