How long does mediation take?
It will depend on what type of mediation procedure you go through. If you have county mediation at the courthouse, then you are typically limited to just two hours of a mediation conference. If you have a private mediation, then you can retain that private mediator for as long as needed. If there are children and complex issues involved, the parties preferably would attend a private mediation. If there is only one or two issues involving children or assets, then county mediation may be all that is necessary.
