In my Tampa Florida divorce case can I and should I keep the house?
In your divorce case, it really depends on your unique situation. If it’s a situation where you have a low mortgage and you really need to have a low payment, then you may want to keep the house. This will require the agreement of both parties. However, I see many cases where the parties have gotten into a house that they really need both of their incomes in order to pay the mortgage. In that situation, if you cannot afford the house on your own, then it wouldn’t behoove you to keep the house. I would want to sell the house, split the equity, and move forward in that case. Again, this would have to be agreed upon by both parties or ordered by the judge.
