What is a default Tampa Florida divorce?

After you serve the respondent, he or she would have twenty days after the date of service to respond to (answer) the petition for divorce and possibly file a counter petition including their requests from the court. If they fail to file with the Court, their response within that twenty day time period then you could move for a default against them. After the default is obtained either by the clerk’s office or judicial default, then you can proceed with requesting a final hearing.
