What should I bring when I first meet with my divorce attorney?

For an initial meeting with your divorce attorney, gather all of your financial documents and use them to put together a list of how much you have in your bank accounts, retirement accounts or other financial accounts, as well as other assets, debts, properties, etc. that you know about.  Also, make a list of the questions you have for the attorney.  Bringing this information will help the attorney to give a preliminary forecast of your rights in the divorce.  If you have children, you will tell the attorney how you want to resolve the custody, visitation and support issues.  Keep in mind that the initial consultation is only a brief synopsis of your situation and more will be learned as the case progresses.  We at All Family Law Group, P.A. offer a free consultation with one of our knowledgeable divorce attorneys to discuss the circumstances involved in your particular situation.
